Eva Turner was the first British soprano in the 20th century to enjoy an international career, and was closely associated with the role of Turandot. She gave her last opera performances with the Covent Garden Opera Company as Turandot in 1947, but retained a close relationship with the Royal Opera House for the rest of her life. Eva Turner donated her collection of costumes, photographs, press cuttings and other materials to the Royal Opera House. On display are costumes dating from the 1920s, worn by Eva Turner in the title roles of Puccini’s Turandot and Tosca, and Verdi’s Aida.
