Mask for Pride in The Seven Deadly Sins (MacMillan)
Ian Spurling designed several ballets for choreographer Kenneth MacMillan, including The Seven Deadly Sins, created for The Royal Ballet in 1973. Spurling’s designs for this satirical ballet were colourful and helped create a slightly menacing atmosphere as with this mask for the character Pride, danced by Anthony Molyneau.
