At the first performance of this work, it was entitled ''Sir' Peter and the Wolf', and was a tribute to Sir Peter Wright on his retirement as director of The Birmingham Royal Ballet. It was subsequently performed as 'Peter and the Wolf' as part of The Royal Ballet season in December 1995.
